Cincinnati Children’s serves a vulnerable population and is required to conduct more in-depth criminal checks on its employees than a standard criminal history check. The criminal checks conducted by Cincinnati Children’s include juvenile criminal records, sealed criminal records, expunged criminal records, and any pending criminal proceedings. Additionally, criminal history is reviewed as far back as birth and up to the time the criminal history check is submitted.
Our employees are required to undergo a criminal history check every four years while employed. They are also required to report any criminal activity to their immediate supervisor as soon as it occurs.

Cincinnati Children's has partnered with Guild, an education assistance provider that offers programs that are funded upfront (certain limits apply), allowing employees to pursue further education without having to seek reimbursement. Employees are eligible to participate on their first day of hire.
The minimum age to work in direct patient care at Cincinnati Children's is 18 years old. Persons under the age of 18, where applicable, must obtain a valid work permit prior to beginning work.
