PURPOSE OF POSITION: Author and edit written and electronic communications and provide project management to assist with the creation of compelling communications to aid in the cultivation, education, solicitation and stewardship of donors in support the organization's philanthropic goals.

Responsibilities
·Writing/Editing
Author and edit diverse print and electronic communication pieces as assigned, including but not limited to campaign materials, direct mail, patient stories, thank you letters, web content, social media posts, presentations, executive summaries, talking points, proposals and leave-behind documents. Interview patient families and craft compelling patient stories. Ensure adherence to style guidelines.
·Publications
Research and write stories as assigned. Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors. Track and convey needed copy and design edits. Obtain necessary permissions, releases and approvals. Collect bids, manage timelines, coordinate photo shoots, track expenses, submit invoices for payment, and communicate with printing, design and mailing vendors.
·Program Support
Respond to requests for new/updated program info in a timely fashion. Meet with medical center staff to gather information and statistics on programs. Conduct research (online and print) to learn about medical conditions. Develop written summary pieces and talking points for use by donor officers, fundraising partners, and volunteers. Keep information up-to-date by proactively seeking updated information and statistics.
·Donor Relations and Stewardship Support:
Project manage communication plans for special events, including the design and production of invitations, programs and sponsorship packages, internal and external event promotions, talking points, scripts, videos and slideshows. Work collaboratively with the stewardship team and gift officers to develop, write and design fundraising proposals and impact reports. Coordinate printing and production of mass impact reports.
·Digital Support:
Seek out information to regularly refresh Giving web content. Author new content and execute copy edits as requested. Build web content and eNewsletters. Stay current with web practices, social media, and strategies of peer hospital to make recommendations to enhance digital content. Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to maintain and grow the digital assets.

Required:
·Bachelor's degree in a related field
·Three years writing or fundraising experience

Preferred:
·Writing experience within the nonprofit sector, health care or sciences
·Current knowledge of social media and web authoring systems
·Reporting or journalism experience
