Senior Analyst-Q&T(Data/Analytics team) - The James M. Anderson Center (Community Health)

Provide advanced levels of data management and analysis necessary to support quality improvement and research in health care service delivery and patient outcomes.

Develop and support process & outcome measures with Cincinnati Public Schools related to English Language Arts, directly in line with Community goals towards Kindergarten readiness, reading/math proficiency, graduation rates and disparities.

Serve as customer's primary point of analytic contact. Meet customers' basic needs either directly, or by delegating responsibility to a junior analyst, while assuming final responsibility for the result. Meet customers' moderate needs directly. If customer has advanced needs within analysts' area of initiative-based expertise, meet directly; if advanced needs fall outside analysts' area of initiative-based expertise, arrange for these needs to be met by enlisting the help of the initiative-based team. Advanced needs include developing and populating new measures. 'Customer' conceived as a hospital unit (such as an Institute, Business Unit, Division, Operational Excellence Team), a collaborative in which CCHMC is the coordinator, a project of defined scope (e.g. a research project, a survey, etc.)
Assume responsibility for a portfolio of metrics for internal and/or external use, where contents of the portfolio are determined by agreement between the Senior DSA, the Operations Director and the AVP. Managing performance metrics includes ensuring that values are updated regularly, responding to questions about the measures from customers, investigating instances of special cause. It may also include analysis to identify opportunities for improvement in the measures. The senior analyst may delegate responsibilities to a junior analyst, but is responsible for the final result.
Support Quality Improvement Activities in CCHMC Strategic Initiatives. Serve as a data and/or analytic resource for one or more initiative-based teams. Work with AC initiative-based teams to understand, document and respond to data requirements to meet reporting and analytic needs.
Assist in the development of department-wide systems for automating the production of performance metrics, maintaining data management systems, developing visualizations and displays for performance metrics, developing and implementing processes for validating metric values.
As needed, assist in the development of materials and support for I2S2 or other Anderson Center QI Training Courses. Train analysts hired in divisions outside the Anderson Center in the use of CCHMC data systems, the wiki data dictionary, the Performance Measurement and Reporting System, and other institution-wide systems for creating, managing and reporting performance metrics. Help to orient and mentor newly hired analysts in the Anderson Center. Prepare analytic on-boarding materials.

Ability to relate to diverse ages and demographic backgrounds.

·Master's degree in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, quantitative analysis OR Related Discipline AND 2 years of experience in analytics or process/quality improvement OR
·Bachelor's degree in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, quantitative OR related discipline AND 5 years of experience in analytics or process/quality improvement

·Five years of experience in health care service delivery
·Knowledge of statistical process control principles
·Experience writing SQL queries
·Experience using electronic health data (claims, labs, pharmacy, electronic health record)
·Experience in business intelligence tools
