SUPERVISOR'S TITLE: Development Manager



PURPOSE OF POSITION: Responsible for developing and executing strategies that result in gifts being made by individuals and family foundations to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC). Represents the institution to donors, prospects, and community leaders as part of overall effort to solicit leadership annual gifts to the medical center. This position also has a key role in advancing existing donor relationships and encouraging increased levels of financial support.

·Individual Giving
Secure outright gifts and upgrade annual gifts from individuals and family foundations via personal, telephone, direct mail and online solicitations of $1,000 to $10,000. Build relationships and facilitate increased giving from individual donors via invitations to personal meetings, tours of the medical center, special events and other interactions.
Conduct regular and personalized stewardship and outreach to new, loyal, and high value donors via notes, email, phone and personal invitations. Assess potential interest in philanthropic support of CCHMC. Make strategic recommendations for follow-up by self or other team members (gift officers) as appropriate.
·Employee Giving
Manage our internal employee campaign. Develop and implement strategies that increase participation and giving from employees of the medical center and serve as the staff lead for the Schubert Society (our employee leadership recognition society).
·Donor Portfolio Management
Overall management of our Annual giving track, primarily comprised of individuals where the target gift is $1,000 or greater. Manage as much of the institutional communication with these or donors as possible and maintain regular and tactical contact with prospects. Manage a small portfolio of leadership annual donors for the purpose of cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of gifts $1,000 to $10,000. Engage current or prospective donors in volunteer or event opportunities at CCHMC to further enhance and upgrade annual level of support.
·Prospect Management
Recommend, and with approval, implement solicitation strategies for assigned prospects, working in collaboration with Board Members and other key volunteers. Gather information and draft correspondence to donors as part of the solicitation process. Individually or as part of a team, personally solicit gifts. Follow-up actions related to fulfillment of proposals.
·Gift Management
Track and manage information/strategies pertaining to an annual gift portfolio in Raiser's Edge. Accurately and timely recording and documentation of conversations and contacts with donors, volunteers, Board Members, physicians and other hospital management. Recording of all strategies, plans and proposed solicitations in Raiser's Edge. Follow policies and procedures governing the handling of confidential information as defined by the mission of Cincinnati Children's and applicable laws and regulations.

·Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
·Three years of fundraising/grant writing or related, applicable experience
