PURPOSE OF POSITION
Plan and execute the medical center's gifts-in-kind fundraising program to promote a greater understanding and connection to Cincinnati Children's. Collaborate with development team members to build and nurture relationships between donors and the medical center who seek to give back through the donation of tangible items and services (gifts-in-kind).
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate Gift-In-Kind Program
Work with community members and organizations who wish to donate tangible items or services to CCHMC. Advise, consult and encourage ideas for their fundraising efforts, and communicate hospital-wide gift needs and appropriate gift acceptance policies. Solicit donations as necessary. Coordinate logistics for delivery of gift(s), thank donors, and give tours as necessary to build long-term relationships to encourage future support of CCHMC. Plan and implement biannual gift-in-kind drop-off events, or as needed. Identify potential major gift, annual giving prospects and/or Champion families from these interactions. Partner and build relationships with CCHMC internal departmental contacts and programs to understand gift needs. Build upon established gift-in-kind program and look for opportunities to expand/market program to those wishing to give back to CCHMC.
  • Maintain Accurate Donor Information
Work with Development Systems Manager to ensure timely deposit and accurate entry of all gift-in-kind revenue. Use contact entry forms to record all necessary information and important details from donor interactions, including stewardship activities with donors and prospects in Raiser's Edge donor database.
  • Champions Program
Assist in the implementation of the medical center's grateful patient program, the Champions Program. Meet with families to learn more about their experience, and engage them in volunteer and fundraising opportunities. Secure Champion families for volunteer activities.
  • Events
Collaborate with special events team to produce a variety of events as needed, including but not limited to stewardship events, fundraising events, informational tours, etc.
  • Personal and Team Improvement
Attend regular team/departmental meetings and individual meetings with manager. Maintain currency in field through continuing education, literature and seminars. Implement this knowledge into the department. Participate in improving organizational performance through recommending areas or approaches for improvement activities, performing new procedures, collecting data and providing input to department discussions.
Skills & Competencies
·Event Logistics
Experience with all aspects of fundraising logistics including: dinners, golf outings, silent and live auctions, raffles and contests. Experience with ticket and table sales, maintaining reservation/attendee databases, auction checkout procedures, some sponsor recognition, reconciliation of all event payments and stewardship follow-up. Experience with managing events with 200-300 attendees.

Required:
·Bachelor's degree
·3 years related experience
·Ability to lift 25-50 lbs.

Preferred:
·Experience in a non-profit hospital, health-related organization, or university
