PURPOSE OF POSITION: To coordinate and assist in development of systems services and programs to establish comprehensive pediatric injury prevention initiative for a Medical Center dedicated to the care of infants, children and adolescents.

Responsibilities
·PROGRAM COORDINATION
Coordinate development, implementation, and management of injury prevention programs, strategies, initiatives, and campaigns. Coordinate injury prevention programs and services, including materials and resources, as needed. Assist with proposals and ongoing communications between partnerships and Cincinnati Children's departments. Assist with agreements or contracts with outside agencies related to injury prevention programs. Coordinate expenses within established budget. Utilize injury information, studies, and reports to identify needs and coordinate with internal and external collaborators to develop injury prevention strategies and interventions. Collaborate with other Injury Prevention Coordinators and Specialists to develop goals and direction for the prevention program within the vision and mission of Cincinnati Children's and Trauma Services. Develop and maintain contacts with other injury prevention professionals.
·COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Assist with identification and recruitment of and collaboration with community organizations, businesses, and corporations. Collaborate in development and implementation of program evaluation components.
·ADMINISTRATIVE
Assist with communications and reporting between Injury Prevention and Cincinnati Children's Administration, Senior Management, and Medical Staff. Represent Trauma Services/CCIC/Injury Prevention as an active contributing participant on appropriate internal committees. Collaborate with other Cincinnati Children's departments and employees as needed.
·SERVE AS A RESOURCE
Serve as expert resource/spokesperson regarding injury prevention topics. Present injury prevention presentations in the community. Provide accurate pediatric prevention information for publication and media use within 72 hours of request. Represent Cincinnati Children's injury prevention and related child advocacy issues as appropriate in local, state, and national agencies and organizations. Develop presentations, papers, articles, speeches, etc. for public education. Initiate and collaborate in preparing abstracts, posters, papers, and articles for professional publications, seminars, conferences, and other professional opportunities.

Complete basic project work in support of departmental initiatives.

Required:
·Bachelor's degree in related discipline OR equivalent
·1 year experience in a communications, public health, health care, or educational setting
·Child Passenger Sfty Tech Cert OR become certified within 12 months of hire

Preferred:
·Fund raising and coalition experience
·Experience working with underserved diverse populations
