ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR - HUMAN GENETICS

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) currently seeks aClinical Cytogeneticistto share responsibilities for their full-service Cytogenetics laboratory. The outstanding faculty candidate must possess a Ph.D. and/or M.D. and must be Board-certified or Board-eligible by the American Board of Medical Genetics in Clinical Cytogenetics and Clinical Molecular Genetics.
The successful candidate will share sign-out responsibilities with the Director and Assistant Director within the CCHMC clinical laboratory, assist in laboratory management, new test development, and teaching at multiple levels (residents, fellows, graduate students). Duties will include review of cases, karyotype interpretation, report writing for all sample types (blood, bone marrow, tumor, amniotic fluid, chorionic villus, tissues), and communication with physicians. The test menu includes standard and high resolution chromosome analysis, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) analysis and SNP microarray analysis. The Clinical Cytogeneticist will have the ability to conduct a research program, or collaborate with basic and clinical researchers throughout CCHMC or at University of Cincinnati.

EDUCATION\WORK EXPERIENCE:
Required:
  • PhD degree in a related scientific or research field.
  • Three years related experience in research field research, and/or laboratory environment and assisting with the preparation of data for presentation at scientific meetings.
  • Assistant Professor appointment or eligibility.
