SUPERVISOR'S TITLE: CLINICAL MANAGER RESPIRATORY CARE

PURPOSE OF POSITION: To provide clinical Respiratory Care Services under the supervision of a licensed respiratory therapist.

Responsibilities
·Professional/Clinical
Prepare oxygen therapy equipment according to departmental policies. Perform capillary blood sampling under supervision of a licensed Therapist. Administer aerosolized medication via hand held nebulizer; perform airway clearance, breathing exercises and metered dose inhalations. Bills for services in a financially responsible manner. Sets up and maintains respiratory care equipment including oxygen masks, tracheostomy collars, T-pieces, face tents, nasal cannula. Collects discontinued equipment from patients are areas, cleans the equipment, calibrates the equipment and prepares the equipment for the next patient. Other duties and responsibilities may be considered pending successful observation and completion of accompanying competency in an appropriate clinical setting.

Respects patients rights for informed consent and the handling of confidential information as defined by Cincinnati Children's mission, applicable laws and regulations while providing for the exchange of appropriate patient care and clinical information when patients are admitted, referred, transferred, or discharged. Furnish data the will contribute to the assessment of patient needs, the organization's capability to provide the appropriate level of treatment while maintaining timeliness, accuracy, availability, and security of information. Develop knowledge and professional skills through professional literature and attendance at departmental meetings and inservices.

Collaborate with the health care team to provide optimal patient care in a professional and culturally diverse fashion. Ensure that work areas are organized and present a safe, accessible, effective and efficient environment for employees, patients, and families. Attend required training sessions including CPR training, Safety College, CARES, diversity. Comply with infection control policies and procedures.

Required:
·Second year student who maintains enrollment in good standing in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program or a new-graduate Respiratory Therapist actively pursuing professional Lic
·Limited Ohio license required
