To oversee the testing of security and related life safetysystems.



As assigned, conducts the monthly/yearly life safety checks,documentation and follow up of the following: Fire Drill Program, Monthly FireExtinguisher, Monthly Panic Alarms, Stairwell/Elevator Phones, Chex-it doors,Garage Help, Entry/Exit Phone, Emergency Lights, Fire/Smoke Doors, EnvironmentalRounds and Area of Refuge Phones for all CCHMC owned locations. The inspectionsof the above consist of the following: Physical Inspection, Documentation ofany issues that were observed, Completion of the exception report, Submit theproper paperwork with the correct organization for repairs. Ensures that the monthly documentation is inthe proper order for inspection by outside agencies. Submit work orders to Facilities/PlantEngineering as needed.

Safety and Inspection

Inspects facilities, systems and their components for thepurpose of ensuring life safety and identifying necessary repairs and providingan ongoing program of preventive maintenance through Facilities Dept. Respondsto emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolvingimmediate safety concerns.


Provides department level training regarding life safety andsecurity related topics, as required.

Communication and Documentation

Coordinateswith administration and other groups for the purpose of completing projects/workorders efficiently. Inform personnel regardingprocedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing necessaryinformation for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complyingwith life safety regulations. Prepares documentation in a variety of writtenand electronic formats.


Workcollaboratively/cooperatively with others to achieve goals. Proactively adjustone's style and/or efforts to complement those of others. Develop positive working relationships withpeers/colleagues. Share knowledge and/or provide support for team members. Contribute to and promote a positive andprofessional work environment/atmosphere. May serve as a liaison within the division or organization.


Review departmentuniform/equipment requests, coordinate delivery of uniform/equipment todepartment staff and ensures documentation of each delivery in a uniform database. Conducts monthly inventory of uniforms, equipment and othermaterials. Order additional uniforms/equipmentas needed to maintain department inventory.

Comply with Infection Control policiesand procedures. Participate in establishing job requirements and goals; performduties at the desired level or competency. Perform other duties as



  • High School Graduate OR Equivalent
  • Driver's License
  • Previous related experience preferably within a healthcare environment.
  • Experience working with access control systems, fire alarms and extinguishers.

Communication –intermediate

Good verbal, written and/or interpersonal communicationskills

Computer proficiency –intermediate

Proficiency in basic computer applications such as MicrosoftOffice, e-mail and internet

Independence andteamwork

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Detail orientation

Meticulously keeping track of details without becomingoverwhelmed by them; being exacting, precise, and accurate; spotting minorimperfections or errors and taking actions tocorrect them.
