PURPOSE OF POSITION: Develop, implement and coordinate marketing strategies to facilitate awareness of Cincinnati Children's innovation pipeline (technologies including potential therapies, medical devices, diagnostics and digital health solutions) by prospective partners. The Marketing Manager will support the Innovation Acceleration and Portfolio Management functions in expanding capacity to provide market research, communications, brand development, awareness, and strategic planning for Cincinnati Children's discoveries and their translation to commercial products. In addition, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for all ICAPI marketing and communication related activities and events in coordination with institutional Marketing & Communications.
Facilitate interactions between research and industry. Educate the academic community about technology transfer and intellectual property. Manage the development of non-confidential, technical information specs for marketing and collaboration. Generate marketing materials/collateral for technology marketing campaigns (tech briefs, videos, cover letters, information packages, etc.). Develop and execute technology marketing campaigns. Obtain feedback and results of marketing campaigns from prospective licensees and Portfolio Managers.
Perform market research to determine if there is a need for innovations and analyze if the market can support the technology. If a market need exists, research the size of the market and value of the innovation. Understand the competitive landscape and relative commercial opportunity(ies). Identify potential partners/collaborators and appropriate contacts and capture in customer relationship manger (CRM).
Coordinate with the Portfolio Management and Asset Accelerator teams to support the development of Leads and Opportunities. Support external outreach and engagement with industry partners as needed. Support the preparation and execution of technology campaigns. Manage the CRM database including data entry and integrity. Liaise with the institutional Business Development group as needed.
·Internal Marketing & Communications
Support the development and manage implementation of the internal marketing communications strategy to effectively position ICAPI as the go-to resource for intellectual property and commercialization related matters. Lead educational programming throughout the year (i.e. lunch and learns, speaker series) to educate faculty, clinicians, and innovators. Effectively communicate funding opportunities, ICAPI successes, etc. via internal communication channels. Optimize and maintain the ICAPI website for internal stakeholders, including intranet site. Coordinate with Cincinnati Children's Marketing group and the Internal Communications team to ensure alignment.
·External Marketing & Communications
Support the development and manage the external marketing communications strategy and execution to effectively position Cincinnati Children's and ICAPI as a leading research engine and innovation hub to external partners and stakeholders (industry, venture, foundations, government, etc.). Develop all collateral including press releases to market ICAPI and its successes including new ventures, licenses, research collaborations, and other newsworthy events. Coordinate with Cincinnati Children's Marketing & Communications group to ensure alignment. Manage ICAPI's external website.

·Bachelor in Marketing OR Related Discipline
·5 years of related experience
·Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time Preferred:
·Advanced degree in biomedical sciences, business, law, or related discipline
·Experience working with early stage biomedical research and innovations
·Familiarity with pharmaceutical, biotech, medtech, and healthcare industries
