PURPOSE OF POSITION: Manages, plans, directs, assess and improve the design and implementation of complex, integrated information systems. Leads projects and initiatives. Provides consultation and direction related to information systems.

Responsibilities
·Process Management
Develop, implement and maintain processes for measuring and assessing services provided by the information services team. Communicate results and plan improvements.
·Systems and Service Management
Plan, direct and manage the functions of the team in the design and implementation of complex information systems. Ensure conformance with team and departmental goals. Work with Cincinnati Children's staff and Information Services to determine requirements and to design, develop and implement information systems. Ensure services are delivered that meet or exceed customer's business needs and expectations.
·Personnel / Resource Management
Supervise, develop and counsel reporting personnel; prepare and present annual performance evaluations. Make job requirements and goals for each position clear to employees and provide sufficient training to achieve desired results. Serve as a resource to staff in the resolution of complex problems. Anticipate short and long term requirements regarding personnel, technology, equipment and expenditures. Provide projections to information services senior management. Assist team members in short-term planning process and participate with information services management in long-range planning.
·Project Management
Participate in and manage small, medium and large projects & initiatives. Direct activities of personnel as they pertain to assigned projects & initiatives and ensure tasks are completed within defined timelines and that deliverables are being met.
·Leadership / Communication
Develop collaborative professional relationships with Cincinnati Children's leadership and staff. Evaluate Cincinnati Children's departmental training needs and develop training strategies, standards and objectives. Prepare oral and written presentations. Conduct instructional seminars. Recommend training solutions.
·Technical Evaluation
Evaluate systems and technology. Apply appropriate computer technology to complex problems as required. Maintain a global perspective of all Cincinnati Children's information systems and technology to represent an integrated approach to selection and implementation. Evaluate current systems for efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy. Review user and technical documentation for systems implemented.
·Fiscal Planning
Assist with forecasting, planning and managing capital and operating budgets within functional area. To include ongoing, monthly monitoring of variance, annual review of appropriate contracts & terms, and multi-year planning for technology and application life cycle management.
·Customer Service
Ensure outstanding end-user support is provided, including ongoing monitoring of Service Level Agreements for incident management and collaboration with other areas to ensure customer-centered incident management and support. Adhere to and promote continual adoption of change management policies and procedures. Model outstanding customer service behavior, including timely and effective follow-up with customers. Always maintain CCHMC's service standards of being Courteous, Attentive, Respectful and Enthusiastic team members, and Safe (CARES). Perform other duties as assigned.

Required:
·Bachelor's Degree in applicable discipline or equivalent required
·5 years' progressively more responsible experience in medium-large computing environment

Preferred:
·2 years' experience leading and directing the work of others
Experience working in a clinical IT environment
