PURPOSE OF POSITION: Research, design, implement, and troubleshoot information systems and technology solutions in support of business needs. Document troubleshooting procedures, operations manuals, and user guidance.
This individual will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of Windows Server hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that server hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, supporting staff, vendors and customers.
This individual will be part of an operations team which supports end users and application teams, monitors and maintains our server infrastructure. This individual may also assist on project teams as a technical resource and a member of those project teams. Also, participate in the Initiation and Planning phases of our standard Project Management Methodology. These activities include the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions. Participation on projects is focused on smoothing the transition of projects from development staff to production staff by performing operations activities within the project life-cycle.
This individual is accountable for the following systems: Windows server systems that support the entire CCHMC infrastructure. These include Microsoft Suite (SCCM, SCEP and Directory Services), Citrix, VMware, Epic, Cerner and other application systems. Responsibilities on these systems include Security patches, firmware updates, applying the latest service packs and required updates. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. This individual is required to be part of a rotating On-Call schedule. Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little to no advanced notice.

·Associate's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
