  1. Recruit study participants in an Emergency Department setting.
  2. Collect high quality study data and accurately document records
  3. Assist with the collection and processing of biological specimens
  4. Assist with the completion of study visits in both an ED and home (community) setting.
  5. Conduct interviews with study participants in-person and by telephone
  6. Schedule study appointments and maintain contact with participants via telephone, mail, and email
  7. Seek out new contact information for study participants with invalid phone numbers and addresses
  8. Regularly follow-up with study participants for phone interviews, scheduling appointments, and mailings
  9. Maintain relationship with study subjects and establish rapport with study subjects to facilitate interaction regarding interviews.
  10. Maintain an accurate and detailed record of all research and results both in subjects' hard copy files and electronic study tracking system.
  11. Assist coworkers and project manager with miscellaneous office duties such as filing, data entry, quality checking, etc
  12. The position responsibilities vary throughout Cincinnati Children's and are established according to the needs and resources of the Cincinnati Children's department providing the placement opportunity.
  13. Learn the daily routines of healthcare/research investigators
  14. Foster career interests in healthcare/research
  15. Gain experience and awareness of the academic, technical and personal skills required in healthcare/research professions
  16. Gain an understanding of different health/research careers, including the cultures and work environments that can be unique to a particular healthcare/research profession
  17. Develop an understanding of the critical connections between education, work and goal attainment
  18. Comply with policies and procedures protecting patient rights for informed consent and the handling of confidential information as defined by Cincinnati Children's mission and applicable laws and regulations.
  19. Complete Cincinnati Children's training required for the position.
  20. Adhere to safe work practices.
  21. Understand, adhere to and model Core Standards as defined organizationally and specifically within the
    department / unit
  22. Home visits will be conducted (Driver's license required; vehicle will be provided)
REQUIRED SKILLSPossess a courteous, positive and service oriented demeanor. Good verbal, written, interpersonal and telephone communication skills. Physical stamina sufficient to meet the position requirements. Computer literate and working knowledge of software applications.
EDUCATION\WORK EXPERIENCE: Must be currently enrolled in a degree granting college program.
