PURPOSE OF POSITION: To provide safe and effective medical care to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center patients. To contribute toward the advancement of clinical patient care and outcomes by following care guideline and treatment protocols for infant, children and adolescent patients and to aid in their mental and physical growth and development. May elect to participate in the training and education of residents, fellows and other learners.
BCBE Pediatricians are needed to cover medical needs on the Psychiatry units at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center College Hill campus evenings, nights, weekday and weekend shifts.
Duties include:
  • Managing admissions to the inpatients units, including executing admission orders and performing a history and physical.
  • Being available for urgent assessments of existing patients on the inpatient and residential units.
  • Communicating with Nurse Practitioners and Physicians that provide coverage during the day to provide safe and effective hand-off of care for new and existing patients.

Responsibilities
·Patient Care
Perform direct patient care of pediatric patients within the scope of the medical license, education and experience. Consistently contributes toward the advancement of clinical patient care and improved outcomes. Examine patients to determine presence of disease and to establish preventive health practices. Determine nature and extent of disease or injury, prescribe and administer medications and immunizations. Perform procedures, collect data, analyze data and make decisions regarding patient care, including initial screening, assessment, diagnosis, prognosis, care, reassessment and discontinuation of care. May formulate, maintain, support, monitor and modify a patient-specific plan for care, treatment and rehabilitation based on the patient's assessment. May also plan and coordinate care, treatment and rehabilitation for discharged patients. If a subspecialist, works to establish a local or regional referral base.

Provide for the exchange of appropriate patient care and clinical information when patients are admitted, referred, transferred or discharged. Participates in the training and education of medical students, residents, fellows, faculty, community physicians and/or staff. Attends clinical rounds, medical lectures, grand rounds, and other conferences, as assigned.

Required:
·Doctor of Medicine OR Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine OR equivalent
·Unrestricted licensed physician
·Approval/credentialing from CCHMC Medical Staff Services Division
·2 years related experience

·Adv Cardiovascular Life Supprt
·CPR
