Follow, document, and design business processes. Identify areas of improvement and communicate to lead/management. Support departmental efforts to use Business Objects effectively. Assist in implementing process improvements
Provide ad hoc analysis to management of multiple hospital departments accurately and in a timely manner, including assistance with understanding the data and potential gaps. Advanced knowledge of troubleshooting techniques, data mining, getting to the root of an issue. Identify needs of the user community and work with IS to ensure those needs are met.
·Support Daily Operations
Consult with department staff and Information Services to determine requirements for universes and reports. Serve as a resource person for the department and as a liaison between the department and Information Services. Troubleshoot reports/universes to identify root cause of data issues. Planning and conducting report testing.
Timely completion of assigned tasks. Accurate & timely communication of status. Effective time management and prioritization of assigned tasks. Assist with setting task priorities and timelines. Responsible for identification of issues with potential solutions.
Assist in development of training for users. Create documentation for peers and customers on new functionality. Identify gaps in knowledge and communicate to lead/management. Design, write and prepare complete user documentation for universes and reports implemented. Create and maintain the data dictionary/metadata for efficiency and accuracy.
Taking ownership of tasks with sense of urgency and drive them to completion. Take initiative and know what needs to be done. Communicate to Lead/Management regarding overall issues, roadblocks. Provide educational, technical and analytic support to Business Intelligence Analyst(s).
Serve as primary contact for validation of data extracts to outside parties. Ensure the accuracy and efficiency of data within reports before delivering to customers. Identify areas of improvement and communicate to lead/management. Evaluate current reports for quality/effectiveness/efficiency. Timely identification of issues and efficient method of notification.
Interact with all levels of management throughout the Medical Center to assist in the analysis, preparation and interpretation of clinical, financial, budgeting and staffing analysis and compliance information. Serve as a liaison between the customer and Information Services. Assist customers with issues in a timely fashion. Utilize effective and timely communication with customers. Treat customers with a friendly, helpful attitude. Strong sense of personal accountability.
Proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), e-mail, and internet

Advanced knowledge of System Development Lifecycle methodology and practices

Knowledge of database and query writing concepts (joins, query logic, cardinality)
