PURPOSE OF POSITION:The Research FlowCytometry Core (RFCC) at Cincinnati Children's Hospital is looking for a highlymotivated candidate for a long-term position in a core facility specializing inflow cytometry and single cell analysis. The RFCC is a fast-pacedenvironment where individuals work with researchers across a variety ofdisciplines to provide consultation, analysis and other services using the RFCCequipment. Instruments include four cell sorters, seven analyticalcytometers, ImageStreamX, Luminex and AutoMACS. Qualified candidates will havethe ability to think quickly and critically, effectively multitask whileprioritizing immediate needs, learn new and complex technologies, troubleshoothigh-end scientific instrumentation, work well in a team environment, have goodcustomer service skills and effectively communicate with researchers fromdiverse backgrounds. Experience with flow cytometry acquisition andanalysis is essential and cell sorting experience is optional butpreferred. Educational opportunities will be provided to the appropriatecandidate as needed.

·Research Development
Develops or participates in developing research topics, proposals, protocols, budgets, and research designs. Recommends approaches for improvement activities, recommends and performs new processes, and communicates results.
·Data Collection and Analysis
Executes and records research applying standard scientific protocols. Supervises and/or participates in data collection, tabulation, analysis, and interpretation. Manages primary and secondary datasets and selects appropriate statistical techniques to analyze data.
Draft, write, and edit reports, papers, journal articles, and/or policy briefs. Maintain an integral role in the center's meetings, presentations, and publications. Present research findings to others at local and national meetings and seminars.
Discuss relevant insights about research results with supervisors/Director and provide useful recommendations. Train and/or supervise the work of other personnel as appropriate. Maintain currency in field through continuing education, literature, and meeting/conference attendance and implement this knowledge into the center and health policy research field. Provide services in a manner to be regularly and conveniently available to meet the needs of Cincinnati Children's research initiatives as determined by department management and Cincinnati Children's governing body.
