Perform the approved specimen collection procedures, point-of-care testing services and processing. Provide education and support to patients and families concerning tests and specimen acquisition. Conduct, direct or assist in special projects, evaluations, experiments or research.
Participate in improving organizational performance through recommending areas or approaches for improvement activities, performing new procedures, collecting data and providing input to department discussions. Ensures that work areas are organized and present a safe, accessible, effective and efficient environment. Maintain currency in all departmental policies, procedures, standards and job descriptions. Attends required Cincinnati Children's training sessions, including radiation safety, laboratory safety, blood borne pathogens and OSHA.
