·DELIVERY OF CARE-VISION
Perform job specific standards such as identification of strabismus and estimated measurement in primary gaze, sensory testing, pupil assessment, visual acuity, tonometry, basic lensometry, color vision testing, basic external exam. Take medical history of patients and document in electronic medical record. Instill eye medication for dilation and treatment. Assist in office examination procedures and apply pressure patch upon request.
Trained and able to use/test equipment such as lensometer, tonopen, icare, autorefractor and visual acuity testing equipment.
Set up and maintain examining room, equipment and supplies, escort patients to examining rooms, complete school and other miscellaneous forms, collection and analysis of data which will affect decisions regarding patient care, provide for the exchange of appropriate patient care and clinical information when patients are admitted, referred, transferred or discharged. Provide data which will contribute to the assessment of a patient's needs, the organization's capability to provide care or treatment and the appropriate level of care, and participate in improving organizational performance. Assist the doctor in navigating the EMR and locating information. Support work flow and documentation for medical record coding including entering information at the direction of the doctor.
Maintain currency in the field, including maintenance of any necessary licensure/certification, through continuing education, conferences, meetings, in-services, networking, literature, and/or seminars. Attend all mandatory CCHMC training sessions. Implement obtained knowledge/skills into one's own work, the department, and/or the organization. Assume responsibility for one's own professional growth and development. May participate in internal/external professional committees, agencies, councils, and/or activities
