Manage the daily cash posting and refund processing for the Hospital, Physician and Home Health accounts receivable. Responsibilities include managing staff members, maintaining positive client relations, and ensuring effective communication in order to accurately and efficiently meet the goals and objectives of the department.
Participate in improving organizational performance through recommending areas of approach for improvement activities, performing new procedures, and providing input into departmental discussions. Develop knowledge of professional skills through continuing education, cross training, literature, and attendance at departmental and institutional meetings as needed. Recommend and implement new ideas to improve the quality of internal department processes and serve as a resource for other members of the Revenue Cycle.
Ensure that a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons are available to accomplish the goals, strategies and tactics of the department. Manage the selection, development, motivation, appraisal and discipline of reporting personnel. Provide supervision of assigned staff for carrying out department goals and objectives and medical center mission and values. Prepare and present annual performance evaluations. Make job requirements and goals for each position clear to employees and provide sufficient training to achieve the desired level of competency; document evidence of competence on an annual basis. Maintain accurate records of time worked by staff and ensure appropriate coverage as required by the department.
