PURPOSE OF POSITION: To plan and lead the design and implementation of complex, integrated information systems. To provide consultative advice and support to employees. Plays a lead role in planning and implementation of small projects.

Responsibilities
·Technical
Evaluate systems and technology. Apply appropriate computer technology to complex problems. Make recommendations on changes to core software images, as well as hardware standards. Maintain a global perspective of all Cincinnati Children's information systems and technology to represent an integrated approach to selection and implementation. Evaluate current systems for efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy, to include the review and creation of documentation for systems implemented. Support shrink wrapped software, and ensure seamless integration with software images. Support clinical and non-clinical CCHMC applications throughout the institution, includes manipulating various configurations and settings and being able to identify systemic application issues.
·Professional
Develop collaborative professional relationships. Participate in short-range planning and provide input to long-range planning. Communicate sufficiently with Cincinnati Children's departments to make recommendations for improvement to services and customer satisfaction. Provide input to developing policies and procedures. Maintain currency in the field through continuing education, literature and seminars. Implement this knowledge into the department. Participate in establishing job requirements and goals; perform duties at the desired level of competency.
·Project Management
Lead role in planning and implementation of small projects. Assist in management of project resource allocation. Assist in all stages of equipment procurement, to include quotes, ordering, tracking, and implementation. Provide in depth documentation to the appropriate stakeholders, throughout all stages of the project lifecycle. Work with vendors and coordinate activities. Prioritize assigned tasks and projects based upon directives from supervisor. Participate in improving organizational performance through recommending areas or approaches for improvement activities, performing new procedures, collecting data and providing input to department discussions. Tireless in the pursuit of process improvement to enhance the end user experience.
·Leadership\Communication
Provide direct technical support and third level problem resolution. Proven balance between technical prowess and business aptitude. Serve as a liaison between Cincinnati Children's departments and Information Services. Ability to articulate complex technical solutions in a clear, concise manner to individuals of varying technical aptitudes. Design, write, and prepare complete user and technical documentation for systems implemented.

Ensure outstanding end-user support is provided, including ongoing monitoring of Service Level Agreements for incident management and collaboration with other areas to ensure customer-centered incident management and support. Adhere to and promote continual adoption of change management policies and procedures. Model outstanding customer service behavior, including timely and effective follow-up with customers. Always maintain CCHMC's service standards of being Courteous, Attentive, Respectful and Enthusiastic team members, and Safe (CARES). Perform other duties as assigned.

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field OR Equivalent
  • 7 years related experience
  • Experience in a medium to large computing environment

Preferred:
  • Experience in analyzing, designing, testing, implementing and supporting technology in a very large patient care environment.
  • Experience with mobile and IP communication platforms.
  • Knowledge of common communication protocols such as SIP, HL7, WCTP, TAP and others.
