PURPOSE OF POSITION: To clean and sterilize glassware; to perform general clerical duties for a department within of a Medical Center dedicated to the care of infants, children and adolescents. Requires ability to push 50lbs carts with glassware.

Responsibilities
·Compliance I
Understand and comply to applicable policies, guidelines, regulations, and/or accreditation standards. Document compliance as necessary. Maintain compliance with CCHMC Core Standards and code of ethics. May be responsible for ensuring that work areas are organized and present a safe, accessible, effective, and/or efficient environment for employees, patients, and/or families.
·Professional Development
Maintain currency in the field, including maintenance of any necessary licensure/certification, through continuing education, conferences, meetings, in-services, networking, literature, and/or seminars. Attend all mandatory CCHMC training sessions. Implement obtained knowledge/skills into one's own work, the department, and/or the organization. Assume responsibility for one's own professional growth and development. May participate in internal/external professional committees, agencies, councils, and/or activities.
·Administrative Support
Pick up, sort and deliver incoming and outgoing mail. Copy materials, collate and distribute large mailings.
·Sterilization and Cleanliness
Pick up, wash, sterilize, dry, store and deliver glassware daily. Operate glassware washer and dryer using standard procedures.
·PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT
Participate in improving organizational performance through recommending areas or approaches for improvement activities, performing new procedures, collecting data and providing input to department discussions. Ensures that work areas are organized and present a safe, accessible, effective and efficient environment. Maintain currency in all departmental policies, procedures, standards and job descriptions. Attends required Cincinnati Children's training sessions, including radiation safety, laboratory safety, blood borne pathogens and OSHA.
·CUSTOMER SERVICE
Respect patient rights for informed consent and the handling of confidential information as defined by Cincinnati Children's mission and applicable laws and regulations. Review timeliness, accuracy, availability and security of information. Provide services in a manner to be regularly and conveniently available to meet the needs of Cincinnati Children's patients, families and employees as determined by department management and Cincinnati Children's governing body.

Required:
·High School Graduate OR Equivalent

Preferred:
·Vocational or college level coursework in related discipline
·6 months laboratory experience, preferably within a healthcare environment
