·Compliance - Patient Services Staff
Sustain a working understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Support leadership in Compliance efforts to meet and sustain the regulatory compliance efforts of the department and hospital. Be mindful and judicious in monitoring safety and departmental policies and procedures. Ensure all individual certifications and Safety College requirements are fulfilled in a timely basis. Work with department managers, nurse council and magnet representatives to identify and share safety best practices. Be mindful of CCHMCs processes and compliance with CMS standards and freely communicate safety and compliance concerns to leadership team members.

Consistently integrates age specific and culturally diverse concepts into patient care, taking into consideration both the patient's chronological age and developmental functioning.
Ability to gather clinical, medical, and demographic data to determine appropriate referral and level of care. Document information and refer patients to internal/external services as appropriate within timely manner.
Assist in the coordination and development of special projects as requested by Director to develop and maintain efficiencies of PIRC operations.
Responds promptly to intake requests. Initiates referral process in a manner to be regularly and conveniently available to meet the needs of CHMC's patients as determined by department management and the medical staff.
Triage and evaluate the patient need vs. service availability of patients and families for outpatient referrals. Advocates for the needs of the child and adolescent patient and family within the hospital and the community.
Assess patient need to determine phone call urgency. If routine, assess needs and provide specific referral options. If urgent, transfer to appropriate clinician.
Develops skills and knowledge to interact with third-party payers and managed care. Maintain professional relationship with referral sources and managed care contacts. Authorize outpatient care and collect specific benefit information.
Manages and supports the CCHMC and MHAP Community Collaborative. Coordinating care and intake appointments based on patients reported needs with community agencies. Collect, analyze and interpret all data concerning community collaborative. Facilitates and maintains effective communication and relationships with all internal and external customers of the Community Collaborative. Initiate and develop external providers and resources to meet the request and demands of our patients and families. Provide continued education on PIRC and resources to internal/external providers. Provide solutions to issues/concerns, display a CARES attitude, support internal/external with resources
Coordinate and maintain statistical data on number of calls and disposition and participates in Performance Improvement process for the department.
