POSITION TITLE: HUMAN RESOURCES Specialist - Compensation

PURPOSE OF POSITION: To serve as an administrative resource and to perform complex compensation functions and analysis for the Human Resources Department of a Medical Center dedicated to the care of infants, children and adolescents.
Participate and coordinate projects which assess, develop or implement initiatives of the division.
Act as a resource for managers and HR staff members in matters of compensation administration, policy and procedure.
·Compensation Design & Strategy
Assist with the design and administration of base and variable pay programs in support of CCHMC strategic objectives. Participate in the salary structure movement and merit budget planning processes.
Conduct or participate in salary and pay practice surveys. Develop and maintain a database of survey results. Analyze survey data and recommend changes to ensure the maintenance of the organization's competitive position in the marketplace. Provide related reports to staff and managers as appropriate. Analyze data and make recommendations related to problem areas and trends. Conduct research, analysis and provide appropriate reports related to the review of positions, compensation programs and policies. Perform budget analysis related to proposed compensation adjustments and changes.
Assist with the administration of executive compensation and benefits programs, including the annual merit increase and Executive Incentive Plan processes.
·Technology and Automation
Implement technology solutions to streamline compensation processes. Assist with the planning, designing, implementation and testing of PeopleSoft and other computer applications as related to Compensation.
·Position Description Management
Serve as a resource to Comp Consultants and managers in the review of job descriptions and provide assistance in developing final descriptions while maintaining consistency of descriptions throughout CCHMC. Assist with position reviews to determine appropriate job title, description and range based on internal and external comparisons.
·Training Development and Delivery
Coordinate and participate in educational training and updates for Human Resources personnel and CCHMC employees.

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
·Bachelor's Degree in a related field AND
·3 years related experience within a Human Resources environment OR
·Master's Degree AND 2 years related experience Preferred:
·Master's Degree in a related discipline
·CCP, PHR or SPHR certified
·Extensive Excel and PeopleSoft experience AND
·Experience with Mercer ePRISM, CompAnalyst Survey Center/Job Analyzer AND SuccessFactors Compensation Planning Module or other comprehensive compensation tools designed to support the alignment of compensation management with business objective
