PURPOSE OF POSITION: This individual will be responsible for performing charge capture review for all the department, serve as a back-up for coding and for performing research and analysis of billing and coding-related projects for the Department.
·Coding and Billing Performs coding and charge entry functions for department. Performs coding and charge entry as a back-up for the department.
·Billing Operations Manages billing exception report to ensure providership is obtained in a timely manner. Works with Medical Staff Services to ensure all providers receive provider numbers on a timely basis. Reviews all write-offs and makes recommendations to senior management for approval/denial. Assists with creating denial letters. Assists Department FSRs with questions/issues related to EPIC and serves as an EPIC liaison between Department and IS. Serves as a liaison with Departments where non-OR procedures are performed to ensure all hospital and professional charges are appropriately captured. Provide input into policies and procedures in order to improve departmental operations. Communicates changes within the department and to relevant external departments.
·Project Management Obtain financial project guidance and specific guidance from the management team. Applies an understanding of third party payors (Commercial/Mamaged Care, Medicare and Medicaid) regulations and customary practices to assigned tasks/projects. Apply an understanding of the financial/claims systems to Department projects. Reviews reports, analyzes trends and recommends solutions to recurring problems.

·Workflow - Basic Basic understanding of workflow
·Excel - Intermediate Intermediate skill in MS Excel
·Independence Pursuing work with little supervision or assistance; directing one's own efforts. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
·Organization Strong organizational and project management skills to handle projects independently.
·Problem Solving Ability to independently work through details of a problem to reach a positive solution
·Communication - Advanced Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
