Billing and collection of Accounts Receivable outstanding balances. To provide support for all aspects of Revenue Cycle Billing and Collections. To serve as a resource for the departments/divisions and other revenue Cycle staff.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounts Receivable: Manage accounts receivable data and collection information, ensure timeliness and accuracy.
Billing: Complete all necessary requirements when billing a patient account to a third party carrier whether it be via electronic or paper mode. Verify eligibility for State Medicaid, Social Security, third party commercial payors, and other outside funding.
Department Resource: Act as a preceptor for new employees. Act as a resource within the department/division.
REQUIRED SKILLS:Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to relate to diverse age and demographic backgrounds. Computer literate and familiarity with patient accounting and software applications (word processing, spreadsheet and database). Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT Codes. Demonstrate attention to detail, teamwork skills and ability to prioritize and to meet deadlines
High School diploma or equivalent
1 years of experience in a medical setting OR a Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline
