PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Director leads, develops, drives and accelerates CCHMC efforts around existing and potential international relationships and global business development opportunities at CCHMC, including international collaborations and exchanges, international consulting partnership opportunities consistent with CCHMC's strategic objectives for CCHMC's Strategic Plans for patient referrals and high impact partnerships. The Director develops systems that stimulate, build, communicate, and monitor sustainable activities between CCHMC and hospitals, health systems, and payors outside the United States and manages resources and relationships for the growth of international revenues and margin.

·Financial Management
Prepare annual hospital operating budget to ensure financial support of strategic international objectives and monitor activity to ensure compliance with financial objectives. Develop and implement policies and guidelines to support financially sustainable international activities. Deliver incremental revenue and margins from international activities and referrals. Coordinate with the Business Director for Global Child Health for CHRF support of international patient care and education.
·Strategic and Operational Planning
In consultation with the VP of Business Development, develop strategic and annual plans with operational goals and strategies for international business development efforts. Network with peer organizations in international health to identify best practices to continuously improve services for our international customers. Work with Global Health, DE, and Divisions and Research Administration to ensure that the International Business Development is cognizant of all major international initiatives. Assess program needs, prioritize action items and develop long and short range goals. Works towards alignment to S&G's SP2020 annual goals. Gains needed support and resources.
·Human Resource Management
Manage the selection, development, motivation, appraisal and discipline of reporting personnel. Lead team to accomplish department goals and objectives and medical center mission and values. Prepare and present quarterly and annual performance evaluations. Make job requirements and goals for each position clear to employees and provide sufficient training to achieve the desired level of competency. Develop and implement individual learning plans, including in-service training and continuing education are provided to achieve the desired level of performance.
·Marketing International Services
Lead regional managers to pursue international marketing opportunities to promote the CCHMC global brand through appropriate pediatric venues, including facilitating expert speakers and exhibit opportunities. Collaboration with Marketing and Communications partners to develop appropriate media to market CCHMC services and capabilities (e.g. international patient care and education services), including internet and intranet sites, brochures, display materials, slides for international presentations, etc. Identify and maintain positive relationships with government, employer, and other international payers. Promote CCHMC unique pediatric services and expertise to continuously enhance international referrals and revenues.
·International Strategic Partners
Identify and pursue international partnerships, including identifying potential strategic partners, establishing appropriate contacts, nurturing such relationships, planning and executing respective site visits, developing appropriate agreements, driving execution/implementation, and actively measuring and monitoring activities to ensure successful accomplishment of strategic objectives and compliance with terms of agreement. Consult with legal services, risk management, and other functions needed to deliver success. Facilitate the development of communication links with institutions in other countries. Coordinate with Telemedicine, the linkages to other countries and institutions. In consultation with legal services, develop and maintain appropriate contractual agreements, establishing guidelines for international partnership agreements and addendum templates for replicable international initiatives. Prepare international consulting proposals and collaborations, considering the institutional strategies and global priorities, internal and external resource requirements, operational sustainability.
·International Patient Referrals/Financial Management
In conjunction with Finance Department, work with international insurers and government officials regarding international contracts, pricing and collection of fees for international patients. Collaborate with the Destination Excellence (DE) team to ensure alignment between strategic and operational efforts to receive patients from various parts of the world.

·Bachelor's degree AND
·7 years related experience AND Experience should be progressive

·Master's Degree OR
·Operational experience AND Supervisory experience within a complex medical center or international business experience
·Bilingual OR Multilingual (preferably Spanish)
