To support the cost accounting, cost reporting, graduate medical education reporting, surveys, and special accounting projects of a complex teaching, research and clinical care facility dedicated to the care of infants, children and adolescents.
·Cost Reporting Assist with the preparation of the Medicare/Medicaid Cost reports.Work with various departments to obtain necessary information for completing Medicare/Medicaid Cost Reports.Develop and organize supporting work papers.Enter data into Medicare/Medicaid Cost Report Software.
·CHGME Assist with the preparation of the IRIS Data in conjunction with the Medicare Cost Report and the CHGME filing. Perform monthly audit of MedHub (Residency Management System) rotations & demographic information for completing the IRIS and the monthly invoice for residents and fellows rotating to non-CHMC provider sites. Assist with annual upload of resident and fellow rotations to the GME IRIS software & annual CHGME audit and overlap reconciliation. Work with non-CHMC provider sites, GME and House Staff Office to ensure Program Letters of Agreement (resident/fellow rotation agreements) are current for each program rotating offsite. Assist with the preparation of the CHGME initial and reconciliation applications. Develop and organize supporting work papers.
·Cost Accounting Assist with the updates to the cost accounting system including annual updates to the statistics that drive the overhead expense allocations. Perform interim statistic updates as needed for cost centers added and new construction that are subsequent to the fiscal year-end and impact the integrity of the current year overhead allocations. Prepare reclassifications and remaps required to appropriately match revenue with expenses. Assist with coordination of the biennial review of the RVU by compendium. Assist with annual upload of CMS professional fee RVUs. Assist with coordination of software updates. Understand revenue and expense flows to ensure that cost data is mapped appropriately. Understand the detail behind the cost accounting to serve as a resource within Finance and non-Finance departments for training on costing data. Develop and organize detailed work papers to support quarterly costing data.
·Surveys and Special Projects Prepare annual surveys, such as ODH, CHA (formerly NACHRI), and AHA. Special projects for accounting, such as data needs for general ledger reporting, and analysis.
Skills & Competencies
·Computer Proficiency Proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), e-mail, and internet
·Communication Excellent verbal, written and/or interpersonal communication skills
·Organizational Skills Ability to organize information, define problems, develop resolutions and recommend action plans. Must possess a high level of organizational and workflow efficiency skills and be capable of working well independently.
·Bachelor in Accounting OR Bachelor of Finance OR Equivalent combination of education and experience
·3 years professional experience in healthcare finance or consulting, including experience with cost reporting, IRIS, cost accounting & financial analysis & knowledge of healthcare
