Full Job Title: Gift Shop Coordinator (25 hours/week)

PURPOSE OF POSITION: To provide support for the business processes required to operate the CCHMC Gift Shop. To fulfill objectives and policies of the Gift Shop as determined by the Junior Co-operative Society Board.

Responsibilities
·Confidentiality
Act in manner that maintains confidentiality, protects and safeguards patient/family personal medical and financial information at all times during collection, use and storage. Access only information and records necessary to perform the responsibilities of your position.
·Daily Operations
Operate business machines (cash register, fax, credit card, copier, computer) and trouble shoot routine problems with basic business equipment. Maintain currency in field through continuing education, literature and seminars. Implement this knowledge into the department. Provide day-today continuity. Assist volunteers in the daily operation of the Gift Shop. Answer the phone, take and deliver phone orders using excellent phone skills.
·Customer Service
Ensure consistent customer service, establishing a good rapport with customers. Assist customers with selection and purchases.
·Merchandising and Shipment Processing
Restock merchandise and maintain desired cleanliness on the selling floor. Management of packing slips on merchandise received, managing damage reporting and back orders. Work with buyers to coordinate incoming merchandise. Preparation and verification of invoices for payment by the Accountant. Maintaining supply levels on shop supplies such as wrap, boxes, tissue, bags, register tape, etc. Maintaining stock in the displays established by the Shop Manager and Buyers. Assist with Gift Shop special events. Coordinate with CCHMC departments involving Security, Housekeeping, Maintenance and Shipping. Perform other duties as assigned.

·Physical Endurance
Ability to pass PAT test of Physical Ability. Ability to stand for 8 hours, use ladders, lift boxes up to 50lbs, change shelves, stooping and bending to arrange product and pack seasonal items.

Required:
·High School Graduate OR Equivalent
·Available to work weekend days as business requires.

Preferred:
·2 years of college coursework and/or strong gift shop experience OR Equivalent combination of education and experience
·Knowledge of POS system AND has ability to coordinate future transition from current system to POS
·Background in training staff for POS system
·Experience in retail
