PURPOSE OF POSITION: To ensure safe and efficient operations within the unit or area by acting as the key contact for environmental services needs.

Responsibilities
·Compliance - Patient Services Staff
Sustain a working understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Support leadership in Compliance efforts to meet and sustain the regulatory compliance efforts of the department and hospital. Be mindful and judicious in monitoring safety and departmental policies and procedures. Ensure all individual certifications and Safety College requirements are fulfilled in a timely basis. Work with department managers, nurse council and magnet representatives to identify and share safety best practices. Be mindful of CCHMCs processes and compliance with CMS standards and freely communicate safety and compliance concerns to leadership team members.
·Unit Support
Anticipate operation needs, implements and maintains systems to prevent interruptions in service and to improve overall performance. Educate co-workers formally and informally regarding safety practices and regulatory requirements.
·Environmental Standards
Regularly assesses unit environment and participates in regulartory rounds. Ensures prompt resolution of noted deficiencies.
·Supplies
Monitors orders to maintain equipment and supply par levels per unit standard.
·Fiscal Responsibility
Explain supply budget variances and contribute to budget development.
·Liaison
Liaison with environmental service staff and unit supervisor. Liaison with Clinical Engineering for equipment repair and preventative maintenance. Liaison with Plant Engineering for repairs, preventive maintenance and renovations

Required:

·High School Graduate OR equivalent
·Experience in an acute care setting
