PURPOSE OF POSITION: Provide oversight of all activities related to data management, contributions to the analysis, development, design, implementation, and maintenance of data management systems, consultation and direction related to information systems for management and staff in support of organizational and clinical and outcomes study projects. To effectively collaborate with investigators and research team members to develop and maintain complete, accurate and consistent clinical research and outcomes databases. To work closely with Biomedical Informatics to evaluate electronic data capture systems and to participate in decision making regarding most appropriate systems for institutional needs. To lead the development of standard procedures for improving data management efficiency.
Collaborates with various departments on the design, documentation, testing and implementation of clinical data studies. Develops systems for organizing data to analyze, identify and report trends. Designs and reviews Case Report Forms (CRFs).
Analyzes the interrelationships of data and defines logical aspects of data sets. Processes laboratory and other external data. Reviews final reports, tables, and listings.
Prepares reports of clinical trial studies for internal validation and cross validation studies. May evaluate and resolve issues regarding contents of reports.
Works on problems of moderate scope in which analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
Lead the data management process for clinical research and outcomes projects.
Participate in protocol reviews and identify critical data items required for analysis and reporting. Consult with senior peers on non-complex projects to learn through experience.

Knowledge of good clinical data management practices (GCDMP) and clinical trial processes; expertise in creating relational databases, spreadsheets, and graphical displays. Ability to program with SAS.
·Bachelor's Degree in a related field
·3 years related experience managing large data sets
·3 years of clinical/outcomes research experience
·Experience with case report form development and electronic data capture systems Preferred:
·Master's Degree in a related field
