To support the ongoing maintenance, development and compliance of the Chargemaster through analysis and review

Responsibilities
·Charge Master
Perform the maintenance of the hospital chargemaster, including the review and approval of revenue center codes, and CPT codes, as applicable. Review the Chargemaster on a regular basis for potential areas that can be stream-lined. Understand current and new services. Incorporate changes to the chargemaster. Recommends and implements changes to improve charge capture, coding, billing and pricing policies
·EPIC Set
Coordinate annual meetings between each department and the appropriate EPIC IT Team to review their charges and the EPIC set up to ensure all charges are available for use for both the hospital and professional chargemasters
·Audit and Oversight
Understand billing rules and regulations. Work with Patient Financial Services, Professional Billing Services and HIM to resolve any kicks from the billing edits related to coding and update the chargemasters as appropriate. Assist in performance of quality audits related to charge capture to ensure that charges are being used correctly. Validate revenue code assignment and charge amounts in the Home Health Request application.
·Compendium Maintenance
Assist with the external compendium review, including providing information to the consultants, scheduling, discussing and approving recommended changes and facilitating the department discussions and sign-offs. Determine the compendiums for both hospital and professional impacted by yearly CPT code changes. Communicate changes to the departments and work with them as appropriate to ensure the required changes are made in the chargemaster. Ensure consistency in cpt code charge setting between the professional billing system and hospital billing for combine-bill cpt codes.

Proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office, e-mail and internet
·Coding and Billing
Knowledge of coding, billing compliance and third-party billing and payer requirements.

Required:
·Professional certification or registry (i.e. CCS, RHIT, RHIA, CPC and CCA)
·Two years of professional experience in healthcare finance

Preferred:
·Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, HIM or related field
