PURPOSE OF POSITION: To perform material handling activities and provide customer service related to the management, distribution, and replenishment of medical supplies throughout the medical center. To assist nurses and healthcare professionals in acquiring the desired products or services. To pull, pick, and deliver supply orders in a timely and accurate fashion.
Provide great customer service for the Materials Management department by providing assistance to nurses and other healthcare professionals with a sense of urgency. Answer questions about products and services with a professional and courteous demeanor. Meet departmental service response time goals. Answer questions and resolve problems related to the status of orders. Prioritize requests in order to fulfill the most critical needs first.
Replenish materials supplies locations in the clinical areas through the use of Pyxis automated refill orders, the Materials Management hand held devices, or par sheets with the goal of 100% accuracy. Pull, pick, confirm and deliver orders with 100% accuracy. Process and issue orders in PeopleSoft as needed including Nurse Supplier, phone, fax, ePro, walk up, and Pyxis orders. Issue credits to appropriate departments for inventory supplies returned. Maintain a working knowledge of products carried including available sizing and types of inventory items. Meet departmental productivity guidelines for area or shift assigned.
·PeopleSoft Processes and Inventory Control
Maintain a basic knowledge of PeopleSoft and how to access all basic functions quickly. Maintain the accuracy of Materials Management's inventory by properly accounting for all inventory transactions in the PeopleSoft inventory software system. Contribute to departmental inventory accuracy goals. Perform routine inspection of item expiration dates to maintain the integrity of inventory quality and safety. Perform routine cycle counts as directed to maintain accurate inventory levels. Follow all departmental procedures and documentation requirements for order fulfillment and replenishment.
Work as part of a team in order to have supplies where they are needed and when they are needed in order to provide for excellence in patient care. Communicate with and provide support to internal department customers as needed to ensure orders are processed efficiently. Work with outgoing and incoming shifts to assure that all pending requests are satisfied. Participate in the training of new employees.

·High School Graduate OR equivalent
·1 year of previous work experience Preferred:
·Experience in distribution, warehousing, wholesale, retail, hospital supply chain, materials management processes, and systems
·Previous experience with healthcare products
