Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is recruiting for a Laboratory co-Director for the Clinical Molecular Genetics Laboratory within our Human Genetics Division. In conjunction with the other directors of the Clinical Molecular Genetics Laboratory, the co-Director assumes responsibility for the scientific and clinical activities of the Molecular Genetics Laboratory. The primary responsibilities include review/sign-out of clinical cases, development of new molecular tests/platforms including Next Generation sequencing and oversight and continued development of diagnostic testing programs. A faculty appointment within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine is associated with this position.
Ideal candidates will have an M.D. or PhD; ABMGG board certification in both Clinical Molecular Genetics and Cytogenetics or Clinical Molecular Genetics along with 3-5 years relevant experience preferred.
The Molecular Genetics Laboratory (MGL) in the Division of Human Genetics (DHG) is a well-equipped, expanding CLIA and CAP certified clinical laboratory. MGL performs testing for inherited diseases including well-established collaborative diagnostic programs for more than 200 different disorders and conditions. DHG has an ABMGG accredited training program for Medical Genetics, Clinical Cytogenetics and Clinical Molecular Genetics. DHG also has a master's training program for genetic counselors administered jointly with The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.http://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/svc/alpha/m/molecular-genetics/default.htm

Required:
·Doctor of Medicine OR Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine OR equivalent
·Unrestricted licensed physician
·Approval/credentialing from CCHMC Medical Staff Services Division
·Completion of all required pre-employment activities
·Assistant Professor appointment or eligibility
·Prior clinical practice experience may be required based on the needs of the department
