Responsibilities
Assistant or Associate Professor with primarily direct patient care of pediatric patients within the scope of the psychology license, education and experience. Participate in safe effective and compassionate patient care, commensurate with their level of advancement and responsibility. Interview and assess patients to determine presence of condition/disease and to establish preventative behavioral and mental health practices. Determine nature and extent of impairment, prescribe and administer appropriate behavioral or mental interventions or assessment. The primary patient population will be patients in the Cancer and Blood Disease Institute. Will provide care in a multidisciplinary clinical setting at CBDI and Behavioral Medicine locations. Effective Communication: Provide for the exchange of appropriate patient care and clinical information when patients are admitted, referred, transferred or discharged.
Skills & Competencies

Required:

PhD, PsyD or Equivalent degree

Unrestricted licensed psychologist in the state of Ohio

Credentialing from CCHMC Medical staff services

Effective verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to relate to diverse educational, age, and demographic backgrounds. Professional knowledge and ability sufficient to care for infant, child, adolescent and young adult patients. Knowledge of clinical specialty growth and development and family centered care. Demonstrate skill in clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

Capability to provide care or treatment and the appropriate level of care.

Development of clinical excellence: Actively participates in department/division and system learner training and educational programs. Maintains currency in the field through continuing education literature and seminars.

Policy compliance: Maintains good standing in the department by compliance to licensure and credentialing criteria. Comply with policies and procedures protecting patient rights for informed consent and handling of confidential information as defined by Cincinnati Children's mission and applicable laws and regulations. Follow Cincinnati children's established code of ethical behavior in decisions.
