PURPOSE OF POSITION: To serve as a resource to staff and maintain supply levels in the Anesthesia Department's anesthetizing locations of a medical center dedicated to the care of infants, children and adolescents.
·Operating Room Readiness Responsible for reviewing daily surgery schedule to prioritize and predict anesthesia supplies and equipment needed for cases based upon acuity and type of surgery/procedure for assigned locations. Ensure supplies and equipment are available, in good working condition and are knowledgeable of their use/operation. Responsible for developing excellent customer service skills and implementing pro-active behaviors for case/room readiness.
·Professional Development Responsible for preparing, achieving and maintaining Cer.A.T. designation through departmental training program, case knowledge and attaining needed CEUs.
·Communication Responsible for contacting provider at start of day to review case management strategies and maintaining communication and visibility during each case thereafter.
·Continuous Improvement Participate in improving organizational performance through recommending areas or approaches for improvement activities (I2S2 initiatives), performing new procedures, collecting data and providing input to department discussions.
