Provide data management and analysis necessary to support quality improvement and research in health care service delivery and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
·ANALYTIC CONSULTATION:
Under the direction and support a Lead DSA, Senior Decision Support Analyst, or Operations Director, meet designated internal and/or external customers' basic and moderate analytic needs. This could include helping customers create and populate a dashboard using reporting technologies within the group.
·PERFORMANCE METRICS
Assist designated Lead and/or Senior DSA to manage their portfolios of performance metrics. Managing performance metrics means updating values on a regular basis, automating the updates if possible. It also means responding to questions about the metrics from customers, which may include initial investigation into reasons for special cause. The analyst may also assume primary responsibility for their own portfolio of metrics.
·QUALITY IMPROVEMENT:
Support quality Improvement Activities in CCHMC Strategic Initiatives. Serve as a data and/or analytic resource for one or more initiative-based teams. Work with AC initiative-based teams to understand, document and respond to data requirements to meet reporting and analytic needs.
·INTERNAL SYSTEMS SUPPORT:
Assist in the development of department-wide systems for automating the production of performance metrics, maintaining data management systems, developing visualizations and displays for performance metrics, developing and implementing processes for validating metric values.

Skills & Competencies
·Analytics/Statistics
Analytic insight, problem-solving skills, and skill with statistical methods; skill with statistical process control a plus.
·Analytic Consultant
Ability to serve as an analytic consultant to senior leadership, division chiefs, physicians, business directors, and other customers who may not have analytic skills.

Demonstrated attention to detail.
·Technology
Ability to manage multiple projects independently. Programming skill in SAS, advanced Excel, SQL, Visual Basic, ACCESS, Business Objects a plus. Demonstrate ability to perform queries from relational databases, produce reports from such queries, and perform basic analyses such as frequency distributions and summary statistics.
·Interpersonal Communication
Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Required:
·Bachelors degree in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, quantitative analysis OR Related Discipline AND 2 years of experience meeting analytic needs in a service organization or process/quality improvement OR
·Master's Degree in a related discipline AND 1 year of directly related experience

Preferred:
·Master's degree in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, quantitative analysis OR related discipline
·Experience meeting analytic needs in health care service delivery
·Knowledge of statistical process control principles
·Experience writing SQL queries
·Experience in the health care industry
·Experience in business intelligence tools
