To perform grant accounting, reporting and system maintenance; for the Research Accounting department of a Medical Center dedicated to the care of infants, children and adolescents.

Supports the general Accounting functions around AccountsReceivable and the monthly close process. Manages the collections of allGrant related Accounts Receivable and ensures proper payment application of allpayments received electronically in the Research Bank Account. Other duties include the posting of allpayments for Grants, Divisional Billing and Clinical Lab Billing in PeopleSoft.


Responsibilities
·Accounts Receivable Responsibilities
Research and apply payments received for Grant, Divisional Billing and Research Billing invoices processed in the PeopleSoft Financial System. Maintain the schedule of unapplied cash. Accounts Receivable follow up and maintenance as it pertains to external agencies and internal departments.
·Cash Management Responsibilities
Work with General Accounting on all incoming wire and ACH payments received in the Research bank account. Serve as a back up to the Accounting Assistant on deposits, credit cards, etc.
·Financial Reporting and System Responsibilities
Review and process journal entries and cost transfers on a monthly basis. Assist with month end close. Respond to departmental inquiries related to financial reporting. Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations by assigned due dates and follow up on outstanding items in a timely manner. Provide assistance and back up for the ClinCard/Greenphire System.
·Grants Management
Maintain working knowledge of general grants management principles and sponsor-specific requirements.

Required:
·Bachelor in Accounting OR Equivalent

Preferred:
·1 year related experience
